Moves/pushes snow well. Easy to assemble. Very durable. Long handle is ergonomic and easy to push. Acts like a mini snow plow. Happy with it so far and it's January already.

UPDATE: It's almost February 2010 and this shovel is still going strong. The long handle makes a big difference - it's long and easier on my back than shovels with so-called "ergonomic" bent handles. If snowfall is more than 2 or 3 inches or heavy/wet, I just take narrower swipes across the driveways and walkways. I plan on buying another one of these while they're on sale. This is my favorite shovel of my top 2 shovels of all time.

UPDATE: It's New Years 2012 and this shovel is still going. We used it almost constantly last winter. The edge has worn down a bit but we smooth it over and keep using it. I love the long handle because I can push the snow without killing my back. This is a great shovel.

this is an excellent tool for pushing snow. However, if you torque the Manplow, it will destroy it. I pushed snow and loaded the Manplow. To dislodge the snow, I flipped the Manplow to the left. I cleared a vast amount of snow in short order, but the Manplow snapped and broke after the first use. I contacted Amazon who exchanged it immediately. I would highly recommend the Manplow, but it must be used only in straight lines without twisting the plow and handles. this is NOT stated in the directions

IMHO, for the reason stated above,the Manplow would be a better product if the plow portion were made of metal rather than plastic.

I recently bought the Garant Yukon snow pusher at a local hardware store for about $35. At first I was skeptical of the plastic blade (I suppose it's actually fiberglass or something more durable, but I still wonder how long it will last on rough pavement). However, it does an amazing job of moving large amounts of snow in a short time. Just get behind the thing and push! You can also use it as a shovel when necessary. One nice thing about not having a metal blade is that the snow slides off more easily. The aluminum handle makes it fairly lightweight (NOT the 34lbs that Amazon lists as the shipping weight!) and it's good in most types of snow. A metal-bladed snow shovel is probably a better choice if the snow has an icy crust on it or if you've got to break through that frozen pile of whatever the city plow guy has left at the apron of your driveway, but for most driveway clearing situations it'll probably cut your work time in half.
