Blue Wave Neptune Step and A-Frame Pool Ladder for Above-Ground Pools Review

I bought this pool ladder to replace another ladder we had purchased when we bought our pool (approx. 5 years ago). I like that it has a slim profile on both sides and that it has actual steps on both sides. If you are tight on space, I recommend this ladder for above ground pools. It also has a swinging gate that automatically shuts. My 2 complaints are that the steps themselves are pretty narrow, so you have to be careful and because the gate is ALWAYS closed, we noticed they tend to mildew quickly. I also find it hard to get out of the pool because you have to stand on the landing and lean over to unlatch the gate before you can climb down. I wish the gate had the option to stay open if you wanted it to stay open.

Be careful when considering this. I wanted a better quality reel so I went with this one. However, it's just the tube. It doesn't include the cranks as shown in the picture and NOT made clear in the description. I went ahead and ordered the crank (base set) which adds another $80 or so which is a lot more cost than I intended. As of this writing, I don't have the crank so I don't have any idea on the quality as a whole.
