My pool was losing alot of water and i was worried aboutt a costly liner replacement but then the bearings on myHayward Northstar pump went out. I went on YouTube and saw how to do it and so my son and I figured we had nothing to lose. However in the process of removing the bearing we bent the armature fins. They are aluminum! So we deliberated over a cheap generic or the Northstar. Local pool guys said you couldn't even find my oem pump. They wanted to sell me a knock off for $267. Then, amazingly they said they could order a northstar but it was $440. We immediately came home and ordered this one. Easy installation. Strong pump. Clean pool.
And the pool is holding water for a month now... Pump must've been leaking like crazy!
