I've cleared 2 drains with this product (after a lot of cussing and fussing with various traditional snakes) and I recommend it enthusiastically. One was a floor drain in a shower that was completely stopped up with years of hair and hair products, and the other was a kichen sink drain, blocked by something like orchid potting bark. In both cases, the fix took less than a minute (after running a garden hose to each room). And cleanup was trivial.

I think it works something like an ultrasonic cleaner, except at a frequency you can hear. The vibration is sufficiently intense that it might uncouple the compression fittings in an under-sink grease trap. I didn't test this hypothesis because ours had to be removed to get access to the drain anyway.
