Rest assured that this impeller assembly is definitely NOT flimsy.

My old impeller assembly was entirely made from hard plastic, and the impeller had broken off the mounting shaft. I expected that the new replacement would be the same because the description does not say how it is made and the picture does not help either.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the shaft of the new impeller is solid brass; the impeller blade is hard hard plastic. It spins on freely by hand which indicate it is precisely machined. I was so impressed with the apparent precision that I tested the impeller for run-out and wobble using a high-precision dial indicator (automotive tool). As expected, there was no run-out or wobble.

I have full confidence that this impeller will outlast the rest of my pool equipment.
