Last Year I purchased this model. I've found that when I put perfectly granular name brand rock salt in the hopper it does not flow freely. The salt is stored inside a building, on a pallet to keep it dry. Because of the moisture in the spreader due to weather conditions, the salt needs agitating. After talking to the company who sold it they called the factory rep and he said the spreader would not accept an agitator because the motor is not heavy enough. The factory rep suggested an adapter to accept an agitator at the cost of $350! This salt spreader is causing frustration whenever it is used.
