Purchased this light to replace a Jandy multi colored light that had gone bad in my six year old pool.Didn't have the 1500.00 the pool repair guys wanted to replace them so I started looking on Amazon and found these. By the way, I also purchased the larger one as well because I have a larger pool that spills into a smaller pool hence the two lights.
I did this replacement myself. Disconnected the power to the old light, took out the light, pulled out the wires with the ground wire, ran a fishing tape back to the pool from the equipment, attached the new wire to the tape and pulled my ass off. I would recommend lubing the wire as it is fed in. Also: I never lowered the level of the water so all this was done with one other person in the pool feeding and pushing the wire as I pulled.
Reconnected the new wires as before, hit the breaker and on they came. It was day light so I first thought they were a little weak. But when night came I realized I could have gone with lower wattages. You could read a book in that pool.
