I bought this leaf trap as a pre-filter for attachment to an existing spa pump. It's the only separate leaf trap I could find with 2" fittings that would mate with my equipment - every other leaf trap I found was made for pool vacs. I was disappointed to find that it comes with only one split-ring 2" union nut, so I had to spend another $12 to buy an additional special union nut for attachment to my pool piping (The inlet is not a standard 2" thread like you find at a hardware store, you'll have to pay top dollar at a pool supply store or specialty plumber). While I was in the pool/spa store buying the union fitting, the guy at the counter said they don't install these particular leaf traps because they frequently fail in service. However, it seems to be well constructed with thick walls of industrial plastic and good threads. I'll be putting it into service next week and will report on any problems I have in the next year.
