Mesh portion seems a little too delicate. Not thinking that it could survive the windy weather in winter and spring, I placed an old leaky canvas on top of it. I have found the two covers combined are doing a good job keeping the pool protected. So far this winter there has been 14 inches of snow, rain and winds gushing over 40mph. Without the second cover, I don't think the mesh would have withstood the elements.
