My plow was so old it had no paint left and a few spots had rusted through. For me, this was a stop-gap to save me having to buy a whole new blade. For a relatively low price, I ended up with a plow that looks like new and rolls the snow much better than before. I would recommend it for older blades. If your blade can be repainted and doesn't have rust, maybe you should wait on installing this. The material is easy to trim, so I waited to cut it until the whole piece was installed. Don't worry about trying to align your edges and corners while the adhesive is still wet. I didn't think the single tube of glue was enough so I bought two more at Home Depot...they have the exact same brand/type. You CAN see the glue beads behind the poly shield so if you want it to look perfect in the end, make sure your glue application is nice and neat. Also, I learned the hard way that if you don't press and hold it down thoroughly across the full blade, it will want to lift off and not nest tight against the metal. If you can, tilt your blade straight up and place sand bags or something on to press it all down. The sealant stays soft so you can peel it back and reapply if you need to. Use a hack saw blade or dremel tool to go along the edges when you are done to trim the excess. Its a cheap upgrade, but can make junk look like a new plow again. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Meyer 28" X 96" Yellow Poly Plow Shield" are high quality item.
