They work as well as any other water tube. Easy to fill and close. As durable as the ones my pool people provided but much cheaper. However, if there is a windy storm and branches fall at just the right angle, it will still poke a hole in it. That's just the casualties of using the tubes unless you get the real heavy gauge, I guess. I like the 10ft length, I find the 8ft is a little short. Overall, I'm satified with it.
