I take care of many pools. I primarily use these Hayward/AO Smith pumps and motors because they last forever if you take care of them and parts are easy to find. I have mine in a small shed, out of the elements and I change the seal every couple of years. I did buy a Hayward pump once that was defective straight out of the box. According to Hayward, they do not warrant "finished goods," so if you buy one of these or any other Hayward finished product, there is no warrantee and if it proves defective you are out of luck, unless Amazon agrees to take it back. For this I am removing two stars.

UPDATE: after 3 months of negotiations with Hayward they finally sent me a replacement for the defective motor. So I guess they really do stand behind their product if you have the time and the energy to go back and forth with them. I am reinstituting one star.
